Patient Name: Maoxun Shen Diagnosis: Recurrent Liver Cancer Clinic History Mr. Shen was vice principal of Shantou University in China, age 60 when first coming to our medical Qigong training center in 1992. In June 1989, ultrasonic scanning found two lumps (D=1.5cm, D=2.5cm) on right liver lobe. In December, he was diagnosed as liver cancer by the People’s Hospital of Guangdong Province. Mr. Shen received his first liver operation in February 1990, one lump was removed from the right lobe, but the other one couldn’t be found by surgeon. Pathological report verified the diagnosis of liver cancer and the cancer cell differentiated well. The second ultrasonic scanning showed that there was still one lump found in his right liver lobe and he got chronic cholecystitis due to the side effect of arterial chemotherapy. In March 1991, the lump has grown to a size of 6×6 cm, detected by CT scanning. After conducting another arterial chemotherapy, the doctor suggested him to take the second liver operation, which was done on May 27th 1991. The lump, surrounding liver tissue and gallbladder were all removed in order to completely eradicate cancer cell. However, he also experienced continual high fever, biliary fistula and serious pain, which made him extremely weak after the surgery. Ten months later, March 1992, ultrasonic scanning found another two lumps in his right liver lobe (D=0.8cm, D=1.8cm). He had no choice but to take the third operation. On May 20th, the surgery removed the two lumps and his entire left liver lobe, which was degenerated after repetitive surgeries, chronic cholecystitis and arterial chemotherapy. Disease Prior to Qigong Therapy The third recurrence of liver cancer was found in September, 1992. The CT scanning (9/10/92) showed that another lump with the size of 2.5 x 2.5 cm could be detected on the right lobe (Fig 1). The fourth surgery was recommended by the hospital. However, the shortened recurrence of liver cancer over and over made Mr. Shen feel frustrated and hopeless on complete healing. He didn’t want to take surgery and chemotherapy any more, but started looking for alternatives. The patients also had a history of hepatocirrhosis and hepatitis B. Qigong Treatment Description and Results On 9/12/1992, Mr. Shen participated in the intensive medical Qigong training in Shantou, and began to learn Taiji Five-Element Qigong for medication purpose. The next day his body temperature returned to normal after being tortured by two months of fever. He kept practicing and felt that he was absorbing energy more and more and becoming much stronger than before at the end of 10-day workshop. In October 1992, he went to Guangzhou to attend another section of anti-cancer Qigong workshop held by Master He. He took an ultrasonic scan before the class, the size of liver tumor was 2.9×2.6cm according to the result of ultrasonic scanning on 10/12/92 (Fig 2). After practicing Qigong for almost 100 days, he started Bigu process under Master He’s instruction. The Bigu lasted 25 days in total, accompanied by Master He’s private consultation and strong Qi treatment. The ultrsonic scan on 1/27/1993 showed that there was no lump or tumor detected on his liver (Fig 3). The tumor was remitted completely, the edge of right liver lobe was clear, no abnormal lump was found. Liver arteries and surrounding arteries were normal and blood circulating speed was also within normal range. Mr. Shen has been cancer free from then on. During this period, Mr. Shen did not take any other conventional intervention, and his hepatocirrhosis and hepatitis B disappeared as well. |
Patient Name: Weixin Ye Diagnosis: Huge primary liver cancer Clinical History Mr Ye was an office manager at Liuzhou Intermediate Court. Age 56 when coming to Qigong training center in 1995. Patient had gastritis since 1989, and took a Chinese medicine (999 stomach pill) to treat the symptom on a regular base. In 1994 he started to report pain under the right rib cage, diarrhea and loss of weight continuously. A routine physical check-up in January 1995 found out that he had a huge primary liver cancer around the right lobe of liver (approximately 10 x12 cm). The physician considered the cancer was too big to perform an effective surgery removal, and recommended the special tube chemotherapy (TAE) to treat the cancer. History of Prior Cancer Treatment In Jan-Feb 1995, he took one cycle of TAE chemotherapy in the First People Hospital of Liuzhou City. CT scan on 2/17/95 found tumor size was 90x90x80 mm with iodic oil around (Fig 1). Two cycles of TAE chemotherapy followed. He felt dizzy & vomit, slowness in physical and mental activities, and lost lot weight. CT scan of liver on 3/22/95 reported not much improvement in liver tumor. Because of the severe reaction, side effect and not much progress, patient refused to continue the chemotherapy treatment. Disease Prior to Qigong Therapy After three cycles of TAE therapy, the CT scan on 3/22/95 found the liver tumor size was still around the size of 90x90x80mm with iodic oil around. Patient experienced serious side effects of the therapy (vomit, slowness in physical and mental activities), his weight was reduced to 58.5 kg. The doctor told the family that because the patient’s cancer had reached late stage and the patient reacted the chemotherapy severely, there was no other way for conventional treatment. The doctor predicted that the patient would not live through October 1995. Qigong Treatment Description On 4/2/95, the patient came to Guangzhou city to attend the one-month long intensive training of Taiji Five-element Qigong for cancer recovery. During the class, Mr. Ye went through a 15-day period of Bigu with daily Qigong practice 6 hours. He also received Master He’s external qi adjustment 12 times. When the class was concluded, he went home and continued practiced Qigong. While in his hometown, he also participated in the group qigong practice at the Liu-Zhou city, and practiced qigong at least six hours a day. As a result, his overall physical condition improved significantly. His energy level also increased. His appetite improved, and his body weight also increased. The oncologist at the First People’s Hospital asked the patient to continue the chemotherapy. The patient refused. Finally, in 1997, at the request of his superior officer, the patient returned to the hospital to be examined again. Ultrasonic scan showed that tumor size had shrunk to 22x23x24mm (Fig 2). And his body weigh increased 12 kg (26.6 lb). The patient did not feel any symptom and his gastritis recovered completely. He continued practiced qigong. And on 8/12/1998 he received another ultrasonic scan (Fig 3), which showed that his liver, spleen and pancreas were all normal. He was completely cancer free. During this period, Mr. Ye did not take any other conventional intervention except for some supplemental Chinese herbs. |
